  • Description: Returns the position of a pattern in a string using regex.
  • Purpose: Advanced searching within strings.
  • Syntax: REGEXP_INSTR(string, pattern, [start_position], [match_occurrence], [return_option])
  • Parameters:
    • string: The main string to search.
    • pattern: The regex pattern to search for.
    • start_position: Where to start searching.
    • match_occurrence: Which occurrence to find.
    • return_option: Return options (1 for start, 0 for end).
  • Returns: Position of the match or 0 if not found.
  • Example: REGEXP_INSTR('abc123', '[0-9]') returns 4.
  • Notes: Flexible pattern searching.
  • Use Case: Extracting numeric parts from mixed strings.
